I would love a Mac client myself...so my Mac friends can join in. Not very likely to happen, though. DirectX FTL. If only it was OpenGL! Why, ANet, WHY?!

This (DirectX on Mac), if it works well, could be something for ANet to look at. Or they could just totally rewrite the engine. Other than that, you're looking at Boot Camp (free) + Windows XP ($).

Having said all that, /signed. Or a Linux client. Or both. Somehow. Please?

i think the program wine or somthing like that lets you configure games for linux.... i know it works for WoW not sure about guild wars though...
for macs though, warcraft 3 is the only game that is fun on it... its like more media entertainment (videos pictures muisc) rather then a gaming expercince.. thats why i stick with a PC

Oh, that's right, Cedega supports GW. Still not as good as an official Linux client, though.

you don't need a new client for Mac, just install windows on your mac

This, like porting games to linux, is a desiscion based purely on two things:

How many new customers will ANET get if they make the port ?
How much will it cost to do the port ?

So I doubt it will happen, unless there is a lot of demand for a mac/linux port of guild wars.

you can get windows on your mac but you have to pay for windows (100$+)

I personally dont like macs, it's just what my parents bought

it's nice to see that so many other people agree with me

That is because the new Macs don't use PowerPC processor anymore, instead they have Intel X86-based processors. WinXP is made for X86's, thus WinXP can run on the Intel-Mac, and GW would run on that WinXP, in Mac.

The operating system is limiting factor, even if the hardware is "compatible".
